Split Leaf
I didn't quite like this piece but others did, so I took it to the base shop anyway. When he was drilling the mounting hole, the bit hit a hard spot but then quickly found a real soft spot. Wow, what a surprise; the stone cracked. He was devastated, I was pleased. Now, I really love the piece. This was originally named Leaf now it is named Split Leaf. I like leaving untouched areas to see the natural texture but this piece brought about the sparkling virgin interior of the stone.
